Documentary: "Saving the Tiger: The Story of Tiger 131"

On display at the Tank Museum, Bovington is a very special WWII tank: Tiger No. 131. Captured intact on the battlefields of north Africa in 1943, it was shipped back to the UK for detailed assessment - and virtually wrecked. This film follows a race against time to restore the tank to full running order, making it the only surviving Tiger tank in the world to run under its own power - and its original Maybach engine.

The film traces the development of the tank, with interviews with veterans and unique archive footage.
