Watch the calendar.
Try to shoot between May
and September. The days are longer, the weather better and even if
the shoot is indoors, the light coming through the windows makes a
big difference (everyone looks better, too!).
You'll get more
hours per shooting pound if you can plan your production within this
timeframe.
Beware
the really cheap quote.
Lots of people can 'use'
a video camera these days and anyone with a PC can 'edit.' However,
neither of these facts turns someone into an outstanding filmmaker
or a talented editor.
Cheap videos
tend to look that way and have a very short shelf life. Outstanding
videos bear the test of time and will give you the best possible
payback. A good video is one you're still proud to be screening five
years.
